Dandelyan, Mondrian Hotel – South Bank, London

Long overdue review for an absolutely fabulous place!

We went for an anniversary celebration in September – a well overdue night out without kids!

Voted as the best bar in the world in 2017 (Spirited Awards) – so no need maybe for further celebration of the skills of the team behind and in front of the bar. We were already fans when they were at their previous venues (see also our review on Coburg when Enrico Gonzato was there). Intriguing cocktail names, variety of interesting options, glasses to go along with the recipes. We got quite peckish and ordered some food as well – a very special mention goes to the fries and their sauce – I can’t believe I am writing a eulogy to fries at a cocktail bar but it must be said – they were amazing!

The only downside is the actual quantity of liquids in the drinks – it just felt there was not enough!

The staff went also out of their way and even arranged a little anniversary celebration cake! We certainly had a wonderful time.

The location itself is very pleasant as well. The variety of seating and colours is pleasing to the eye in the inside and beautiful view of the river and the City on the outside. The acoustics somehow seem to work as well. It is really vibrant and can perhaps become a touch loud but much better than 99% of other bars in town.
